This role will be part of the recently established Transformation function for RFLPS which aims to position itself as an Estates consultancy within the NHS and wider marketplace.
The post holder will be part of a multi-skilled construction, capital and estates transformation function which leads on change initiatives, both for RFLPS, RFL Group and external clients.
The individual will strategically as well as operationally lead transformation projects and programmes, taking responsibility for design, development and delivery as required. The post holder will be required to work across a range of fields within the sector and will have a high level of autonomy, self-drive and will need to be able to manage multiple priorities as well as providing leadership and direction to their team.
The Senior Project Manager will work across a complex portfolio of change initiatives and will need to be a role model for change and improvement. They must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be confident working alongside senior management in both an organisational and client facing environment.

To support and advise the Associate Director of Transformation and other senior managers, in the change and improvement responsibilities of RFLPS in line with agreed project and governing service objectives, so as to achieve long term benefits to stakeholders.
Job responsibilities
The focus of the Senior Project Manager is to develop and lead programmes; planning, delivering and evaluating the programme activities and ensuring that the programmes are set up to deliver over a number of years.
The individual will need to strategically as well as operationally lead programmes, working closely with the Senior Responsible Officers and wider programme teams. Therefore they will need to be well versed and experienced in programme management and change methodology.
The individual will be required to work across departments and all levels of the organisation as well as externally with clients, to inspire, design and lead these improvement programmes. The change focus and the need to work internally and externally to the organisation means there is an even greater demand on their personal credibility and persuasion skills.
The Senior Project Manager will have a high level of autonomy, self-drive, and will be able to manage multiple priorities and provide direction to teams to achieve the plan set out. They should be educated to Masters Degree level or be able to demonstrate the equivalent level of relevant experience within a strategic, operational or project based environment.
The Senior Project Manager will work in a matrix arrangement; enabling the delivery of a large programmes of work, smaller more targeted projects as well as providing support and challenge to internal improvement initiatives for RFLPS.
The Senior Project Manager will lead and design work at the complex end of programme management. They will need to be ambassadors for improvement and model the integrity and value for money behaviours essential to sustainable improvement.
Line management:
* The senior project manager will line manage staff within the team as delegated by the AD Transformation.
* Line management will include setting objectives, identify training and support to maximise development opportunities.
* Appraisals will be undertaken by the programme manager with staffs reporting to them.
Person Specification
Education & professional Qualifications
* Chartered Construction professional RICS, RIBA, C Eng or similar
* Degree/Diploma in line with key competencies in construction and contract management
* Diploma in Project Management

* Proven expertise to lead, plan, manage, interact with colleagues and deliver projects successfully in a spirit of cooperation.
