Southern Water will be delivering a significant increase in its capital delivery programme over the next five-year period.
We are hiring two Process Mapping Business Analysts to assist in this initial scope of work which will be documenting and mapping out our current processes to understand the flow of our critical asset data and the decision making using this data through our core system and out of system processes. You will be discovering and understanding opportunities for process improvement and digitisation across the multiple end-to-end journeys for our many different asset types, asset management, and operational processes that interact with those assets.
As a Process Mapping Business Analyst, you will be working closely with a project manager, business process owners, and the many other stakeholders who interact with this, along with business, digital, and data architects to produce the process to an initial level 1 view, along with capturing more detailed existing processes that already exist to deeper levels along this journey.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Pulling together a series of existing process mapping documentation at different levels and aligning within a full end-to-end process map at a high level to be determined through engagement with stakeholders required to meet the specific goals of the project.
2. Effective engagement through interviews and workshops on and offline, with business SMEs, operators on and off site, suppliers at different levels, enterprise, business, and data architects.
3. Producing standardised “as is” business process mapping and documentation including bringing in existing documentation produced to different standards.
4. Coordination of activities with colleagues and working with the project manager and wider team to both build and deliver the plan of action over the six-month duration for this piece of work.
Skills and experience needed:
1. Gathering data, conducting interviews, collecting explicit and implicit process steps, production of swim lane diagrams, using BPMN notation, clearly depicting the sequence of activities and decision points noting variances.
2. Solid awareness and knowledge of data flows and data master management.
3. Experience with business mapping software and expertise in the use of Visio and similar software.
4. Excellent communication skills at all levels.
5. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
6. Workshop organisation and facilitation skills.
7. Demonstrable experience and success in working as a team and a strong collaboration ethic.
