Fixed term for 18 months, 37 hours per week
We are seeking a Student Recruitment and Enrolment Administrator to join their Distance Learning Unit (DLU). This is an exciting opportunity for you to support the successful recruitment and admission of students to new, innovative, and fully online distance learning courses. This includes the administration of a wide variety of enquiries, applications, admissions and enrolment related activities.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting the smooth and efficient management of UK and international applications for the University’s growing number of distance learning courses. Working closely with the wider DLU, academic departments, and other key stakeholders, you will ensure that all applications are processed accurately and in a timely manner using the University’s student record systems (SITS), adhering to University and external standards.
You will provide dedicated support to enquirers and applicants, offering excellent customer service, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all interactions are handled professionally. You will also evaluate applications using pre-defined criteria and ensure compliance with relevant frameworks such as UK ENIC and the UCAS Tariff.
In this role, you will bring significant administrative experience, ideally from working in a busy office environment. You’ll be familiar with managing complex databases, such as student record systems, and have developed strong organisational skills. Your ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise your workload efficiently will be essential to managing the demands of this position.
You will have GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent qualifications, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, supported by either an IT qualification or practical experience. A commitment to ongoing professional development is key, as you’ll be continually improving your skills and knowledge.
With a strong focus on customer service, you’ll have experience providing high-quality service to diverse groups and working in compliance with regulations and policies. You’ll also possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Your attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure will ensure accuracy and efficiency in your work.
We offer an excellent employment package including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working (dependent on work duties).
The University is deeply committed to equality and diversity for all its students and staff. We seek to be diverse and inclusive, supporting individuals and groups to fulfil their potential and nurture a sense of belonging. We strive to be an accessible, inclusive employer, removing barriers for all.
If you are a current student at the University, you are welcome to apply for part-time roles of 16 hours or less per week, unless you are a part-time postgraduate student, in which case you can also apply for full time roles, subject to any visa requirements.
