We are looking for a bright customer-focused talent to join our technical support team. You will put your experience of working as a hands-on, customer-facing technical support specialist to good use helping staff, teachers, and students to fix their IT issues. You will be working across Midlothian both in Council offices and schools, facing a diverse range of technical challenges on Windows, Apple, and Chrome-based devices and software.
Working independently, you will be the first port of call for Council and school staff who are having problems with IT hardware and software. We will expect you to understand and help our staff get back up and running quickly with whatever technology they are struggling with.
The Council is a flexible employer and will consider applicants looking to work flexibly.
Essential
1. A Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Information Technology or similar qualification or be able to demonstrate at least two years equivalent experience;
2. Experience of troubleshooting Windows hardware and software;
3. A valid UK driving license;
Desirable
1. ITIL Foundation Qualification;
2. Experience of Chrome, Google, and Apple technologies;
3. Previous experience of working in a school environment;
