As a Civil Works & Fit Out Project Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in our mission to create a state-of-the-art cancer centre. Join our dynamic team and make a difference!
The project involves the design, construction, finance, and 25 years operation of the New Velindre Cancer Centre which will be situated on a greenfield site, owned by the Trust, at Whitchurch, North Cardiff. The project is being procured through the Welsh Government's Mutual Investment Model ("MIM") which is a specific model for procuring public private partnerships in Wales.
We are looking for a suitably qualified engineer eager to daily challenges, truly committed to the highest standards of construction delivery, with interest in the wider aspects of project development such as community benefits and who can develop lasting relationships with multiple parties.

Key Responsibilities include:
* Support the ProjectCo´s General Manager and Construction Director
* Work with the NHS Trust, stakeholders and local community
* Work with the design team, the construction team and hard FM team
* Work with ProjectCo specialists and experts through construction
* Oversight of program for design, construction, and commissioning activity for the works, ensuring quality of work and a safe site.
* Responsible for assisting the Construction Director in the execution of all tasks directly related to project monitoring and construction execution related with his area of knowledge.
* All Technical disciplines’ design monitoring
* Civil Works and Fit Out Construction monitoring
* Monitor the progress of the works against the construction programme
* Manage key information requirements within the Project Agreement/contract documents
* Secure the accuracy and compliance of the project and the construction with the Employer requirements, standards and regulations.
* A focus on the monitoring of the sustainability aspects of the project such as the delivery of a BREEAM excellent hospital
Essential criteria
* Right to work in the UK
* Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
AND
* Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role including Healthcare, buildings and or technical construction experience
OR
* Minimum of 10 years in a similar role including Healthcare experience
In addition to the above:
* Monitor BIM process as described in the BIM protocol and BIM execution plan
* Document control / communication
* Management of meetings, agendas, minutes, and action points
* Support CD / independent tester liaison
* Support CD / lender technical adviser liaison support
* Enthusiastic and able to work in a small team with ProjectCo General Manager and Construction Director
* Work with and overseeing the Construction team
* Ability to work under pressure at peak moment.
* Good organisational skills and attitude to embrace, create, promote and maintain work procedures.
