About the Role
Reporting to the COO, this position will see you take the lead of sales operations and execution, as well as contributing to the wider commercial strategy.
Experienced in working in a multi-channel retail environment with wholesalers, supermarkets & national chains, you will have a passion for identifying sustainable, profitable growth opportunities and be able to think strategically and tactically.
National Sales Manager – Pet Industry
Are you a results-driven sales leader with a passion for the pet industry? We’re looking for a dynamic National Sales Manager to drive business growth, strengthen key relationships, and expand our market presence.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the development and execution of our strategic business plan, ensuring annual sales, turnover, and profit targets are met.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with senior buyers, understanding the strategic needs of national accounts.
* Collaborate with internal teams to manage pricing, forecasting, supply, and customer service requirements.
* Analyse sales data and budgets, providing regular reports and actionable insights.
* Identify growth opportunities through gap analysis and distribution expansion.
* Equip the sales team with the necessary tools, shopper insights, and strategies to drive business success.
* Champion a customer-centric approach, leveraging product knowledge and shopper insights to create compelling sales proposals.
About You
* A proven sales leader with at least 5 years of experience in retail/FMCG sales, ideally within the veterinary or pet industry.
* Strong background in mainstream retail, pet chain retail, and wholesale within the UK market.
* Skilled in managing the sales process from strategy to execution, with the agility to adapt to market changes.
* Commercially savvy, with expertise in negotiation, pricing, and joint business planning.
* Ability to quickly absorb product and category knowledge to influence key decision-makers.
* Experience in category management, building data-driven proposals to create win-win partnerships with national retailers.
* Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft applications.
