A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly ED teams in a beautiful part of Cumbria. Successful applicants will join our composite workforce to provide SAS career grade presence in the Emergency Department. Included is a free pass to explore the best outdoor activity centre in the UK – the nearby English Lake District.
We are looking for dynamic and motivated Specialty Doctors to join our friendly and supportive team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC). These posts will work alongside our team of Consultants while at the same time developing a special interest with appropriate accreditation.
Applications are welcome from candidates wishing to work either full or part-time as a Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine. Any applicant who is unable, for personal reasons, to work full-time, will be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis in consultation with consultant colleagues.
The post currently attracts a discretionary recruitment premium of up to 15% (based on basic salary) per annum. This is payable for up to 4 years and is reviewed by the Trust on an annual basis.
NCIC values its SAS Doctors and these full-time Specialty Doctor posts will benefit from an enhanced job plan which will include 6 direct clinical care sessions, 2 specialist interest sessions, 1.5 SPA allocation and 0.5 admin session in their job plans and all NCIC SAS doctors have an additional 1 day annual leave after 7 years' Trust service.
Suitably experienced and interested SAS doctors are also able to take up roles as clinical and educational supervisors, appraisers, research investigators and to apply for leadership positions within the Trust.
NCIC uniquely provides the Medical Directorate Development faculty (MDDF). The MDDF is led by the Deputy Medical Director for Professional Standards along with our International Medical Graduates (IMG) Tutor, Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) lead, Locally Employed Doctors (LED) lead and Speciality and Associate Specialist (SAS) lead. We offer a suite of professionalised development and support including;
* An extended and enhanced induction and CPD program for IMGs
* LED support, careers guidance and CPD
* A quality controlled CESR portfolio support system and teaching program
* SAS professional representation and teaching program
* An accredited program for existing and aspiring Medical Leaders
* A new consultants support and development program
