At AA, we are committed to enhancing and maintaining the security posture of our IT infrastructure. We are looking for a proactive and experienced Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our Cyber Security team. This role is critical in driving our security initiatives and embedding a security culture across the organisation.
As a Senior Cyber Security Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving our cyber security technologies. You’ll work on a broad range of complex technical activities and provide operational reporting to support effective governance. You’ll have extensive knowledge and experience in multiple areas of cyber engineering and will be able to apply this knowledge effectively within the role.
What will I be doing?
* Design, configure, maintain, and maximise the AA’s cyber security services and tools to protect against, detect, and respond to unauthorised or malicious activities.
* Introduce new cyber security controls and leverage real-life experience to mitigate threats, risks, and vulnerabilities.
* Collaborate with other IT functions and third-party vendors to enhance security measures and provide incident response support.
* Guide and mentor junior team members, championing cyber security across the business and embedding a security culture.
* Drive automation and integration across the estate to form a modern and efficient cyber security capability.
* Create and maintain standard operating procedures and operational reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
What do I need?
* Strong demonstrable experience and technical expertise within Cyber Security/SecOps and Infrastructure.
* Hands-on experience in CNAPP/CSPM, micro-segmentation, PEM/PAM, Zero-Trust, Microsoft security solutions, security guardrails, security architecture, threat intelligence, identity management, M365/O365, SIEM, email security (including SPF/DKIM/DMARC), scripting skills, AWS security, firewalls, IT infrastructure, EDR/AV, and secure web gateways.
* Proficiency in cloud technologies, preferably Azure, but experience with other cloud platforms is beneficial.
* Industry-level operational IT security certifications (e.g., Microsoft security certifications, CISSP, SSCP, CEH) and a strong track record of successfully delivering and supporting security systems throughout the entire product life cycle.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop effective solutions for complex technical and operational issues.
* Team player with drive and determination to make a difference, committed to continual service improvement, and comfortable with objectively challenging peers and superiors to ensure adherence to quality standards, while being pragmatic and able to adapt to the needs of the business.
