About the service
Our friendly, established teams in Ellon and Cruden Bay are looking for like-minded dedicated individuals to join them on a full or part time basis.
As a Support Practitioner with Sense Scotland, you will work directly with adults who have a variety of complex needs and support them with all aspects of their life, including developing their life skills such as communication, social skills, and encouraging independence.
Each person we support has their own tenancy, meaning you will work with people within their own homes supporting them with personal care such as bathing, toileting, medication administration, meal preparation, inspiring a healthy lifestyle, and household tasks such as cleaning and laundry.
You will encourage involvement in activities such as meeting friends, taking part in social gatherings, long drives, walks, swimming, tea cups, picnics, arts and crafts, indoor games, or pamper sessions at home when the weather is not so good.
Most of the people we support have their own cars, which you would use to take them to where they need to be. For this, you would need to hold a UK driving licence and be licensed to drive a manual car. Not a driver? That’s okay, we work around public transport too.
The households are busy and full of joy and fun. There’s lots going on and no two days will ever be the same, giving you the opportunity to learn, develop, and grow as a Support Practitioner. Our onsite managers and supervisors are there to support you every step of the way, and with continuous training and support from our Learning and Development department and your peers, you will soon feel part of the team.
