* Residential and Enhanced Assessment units at Kenrick Care Centre in Harborne
Residential Units at each centre consists of 32 beds and they provide services to citizens who need long-term care and support. These units provide personal care and bespoke meaningful activities for the residents. All the festive seasons are also celebrated and enjoyed with our citizens and their families and friends.
In Kenrick, residents enjoy the beautiful gardens and water features surrounding the centres. The Enhanced Assessment (EAB) unit at Kenrick accommodates citizens who are medically fit but need ongoing rehabilitation before they can move back to their own homes from hospitals.
The rehabilitation programmes at EAB are supported by care assistants under the supervision of senior care staff and therapists.
This 32 bedded service has a high turnover of referrals which are from all the hospitals in the city. The length of stay at Kenrick EAB is short term. The EAB team consists of Care Staff, Occupational Therapists, Physio Therapists, Social Workers and district nurses who work in a fast-paced environment in order to support hospital discharges.
The main role and responsibilities of a care assistant both in residential and EAB units is to work closely with colleagues, residents and their families in order to ensure citizens are safe, happy and healthy. The dignity, privacy, emotional and psychological needs of our residents are of high importance to us and as the care assistant, you are expected to ensure these elements are achieved successfully.
Due to the nature of this job, staff are required to work on a rota which includes late and early shifts and weekends and bank holidays.
Government legislation requires anyone entering, working or volunteering in a Care Quality Commission (CQC) registered care home in England for residents requiring nursing or personal care must have had a complete course of an authorised COVID-19 vaccine and be able to provide proof, unless they have a medical exemption, or they are under the age of 18. You will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination status or medical exemption to the recruiting manager as part of the interview process and if you are the successful candidate, as part of pre-employment checks.
