We are looking for a Wind Turbine Technician to join the new Gamesa Hub encompassing the whole of the UK. Travel will be expected and compensated. Energy, drive, and commitment are key attributes to succeed in this role.
Preferred home location is Halifax and surrounding areas.
An Electrical/Troubleshooting background is preferred for this role; however, a Multi-skilled Mechanical/Electrical background may also be considered.
As a Wind Turbine Technician, you will perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and inspections on the customers' wind turbine sites.
Some of your key tasks will include but are not limited to:
1. Electrical/Mechanical scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on varied wind turbines.
2. Coordinate and accomplish defined service operations and/or resolve product issues for customers' equipment.
3. Assist the team in the completion of contractual extra scopes including Turbine Mounted Safety Equipment (TMSE), Crane and Lift inspection and maintenance.
4. Ensure compliance with Siemens Gamesa standards in relation to Environment Health and Safety (EHS), Quality, and Service delivery.
5. Support for the welfare of technicians whilst on site and escalation of any issues relating to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), transportation, and equipment.
6. Provide accurate reporting into and utilization of ATS database and other electronic workflow systems.
7. Supervise the Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) team members, 3rd party technicians, contractors, and sub-contractors for various required scope delivery.
What You Need To Make a Difference
Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for:
1. Professional experience – Electrical/Mechanical with Electrical (training certificate)/National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) level 3 or 4/electronics or full apprenticeship scheme will be preferred.
2. A self-motivated individual with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
3. Technical knowledge working on different wind turbines would be preferred.
4. Experience working with Microsoft Office applications, ATS, and Fluix would be an advantage.
