Receptionist Job Description
The purpose of the receptionist is to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the secure hospital reception area. This includes managing hospital security systems, greeting visitors professionally, and ensuring inbound calls are answered and directed appropriately.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage the secure hospital reception entrance effectively.
2. Greet visitors and callers politely and professionally, representing the company positively.
3. Administer day-to-day security tasks such as signing out keys and alarms, auditing, testing alarms and pagers.
4. Handle reception administrative tasks like post, photocopying, and laminating.
5. Operate the central switchboard efficiently and respond promptly to incoming calls, taking accurate messages when needed.
6. Maintain a presentable reception area.
7. Complete delegated tasks from the operations manager.
Candidate Profile
Experience and Skills
* At least 1 year of experience in a similar environment or receptionist role.
* Proficient in PC skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
* High accuracy in typing.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Flexible working approach.
* Prioritize workloads effectively.
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Follow policies and ensure compliance.
* Facilitate teamwork for patient and staff benefit.
* Effective oral and written communication skills.
* Willingness to receive supervision and personal appraisal.
* Open to training based on assessed needs.
* Adhere to policies on anti-discrimination, health and safety, and statutory regulations.
