Job Description
Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our client's team based in Hertfordshire in the role of Lighting Technician.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performance lighting design, implementation, and operation with a focus on live music and events. You should be a proficient user of at least one of our preferred console platforms either GrandMA, Avolites, or Chamsys. You should have an excellent working knowledge of general production techniques including IT, rigging, power distribution, and data distribution along with a good working knowledge of the latest technologies and best practice. A good general understanding of electrical theory and the ability to undertake basic fault finding will be essential. Experience in other production disciplines like audio or video would also be extremely beneficial.
Responsibilities:
1. Represent the company on site as part of engineering teams delivering technical solutions to the highest standards.
2. Install and maintain bespoke production lighting systems on site following plans and briefs.
3. Program and operate lighting systems on site.
4. Troubleshoot and fault find systems as required.
5. Adopt a creative approach to problem solving and adapt and react to changing circumstances at speed.
6. Supervise sub-contracted staff to ensure company standards are maintained at all times.
7. Liaise with clients on site to ensure their expectations are met at all times.
8. Liaise with venues to build positive relationships and ensure projects are delivered within required parameters.
9. Act as an ambassador for the business at all times.
10. Provide pre-production support to the Project Management team.
11. Assist with preparing plans and paperwork for projects.
12. Liaise with Project Managers to understand project requirements, briefs, and deadlines.
13. Share your expertise to develop and grow other staff.
14. Assist the Warehouse Teams in preparing equipment.
15. Assist the Operations Team with the maintenance of equipment as required.
16. Advise on technical queries and make recommendations for new equipment investments.
17. Seek to continually learn and grow your technical and interpersonal skills.
18. Be comfortable asking for guidance and support when required.
19. Maintain a strong awareness of developing trends and technologies across lighting, audio, video, and staging technologies.
20. Ensure you are presentable at all times when face to face with clients.
21. Champion and promote best practice in all areas of project delivery.
22. Champion and promote best practice in all areas of Health and Safety.
23. Operate within all LPFS protocols and procedures.
24. Adopt a positive, can-do attitude to all challenges.
25. Support the Senior Leadership Team in developing processes and procedures to improve all aspects of the company’s operations.
26. Undertake any other tasks as reasonably requested.
