At Kennett Primary School, we are looking to appoint a highly motivated teaching assistant to join our wonderful team. The role focuses on supporting students who have barriers to their learning to ensure successful outcomes. Candidates will be confident in establishing constructive relationships with students according to individual needs. Apprenticeship summary: Contract: 18 months Fixed Term Apprenticeship Contract Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant Working Pattern: 26.25 hours per week, days to be discussed, 8.45am – 3.15pm, with a 15 minute and 1 hour unpaid break, term time only (38-40 weeks per year). Wage: £6.40 (Paid Monthly) Holiday: 28 days holiday (Bank Holidays not included) Notice Period: 1 Month Training Provider: LMP Education (Rated 1st best apprentice provider in UK) Training will be delivered in a blended format, with online learning and face to face sessions taking place in the workplace. Requirements: Applicants to have achieved English and/or Maths grade C/4 or above or functional skills Level 2. Main duties and responsibilities: • The post holder will be required to demonstrate a continual positive commitment to the Trust’s policies including those relating to safeguarding children, health & safety, and equal opportunities. You will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people, a responsibility we expect all our staff to share • In conjunction with the classroom teacher, adapt lessons to meet the needs of individual children and small groups • Take responsibility for the delivery of learning activities with small groups who would benefit from a different learning approach as agreed • Establish and maintain supportive relationships with individual pupils and small groups to ensure they understand set tasks • Provide learning support to children with significant care needs, or where English is not their first language • Support children with significant development needs, for example, cognitive ability, EBD, learning skills, etc. as directed • Encourage and promote inclusion in the classroom, ensuring that all pupils feel involved with tasks and activities • Support the school curriculum, including the delivery of English and mathematics activities • Suggest areas where technology might be used to enrich pupil learning • Provide targeted support to enhance learning and improve attainment • Assist in maintaining class records and contribute to reports on pupil progress and development as directed • Support with monitoring progress and the provision of feedback to assist in developing provision for children with special education needs • Contribute to the planning and evaluation of work programmes for individual pupils and groups • Organise the learning environment and develop classroom resources as required • Undertake support activities for the teacher as required, for example, photocopying, preparation of materials, mounting displays etc. • Contribute to the management of pupil behaviour, including anticipating and acting to prevent potential problems arising • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and parents or carers • Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and healthy environment • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, as required • Assist in the organisation and support with the smooth running of school events, for example, school plays • To engage with relevant training appropriate to the role • To comply with individual responsibilities, in accordance with the role, for health and safety in the workplace About the Employer: Kennett Primary School is a fantastic place to learn and grow.
