We are seeking a Finance Administrator to join an established Finance team on a part-time basis for a successful provider of metal painting and powder coating services. Working closely with the Finance Manager and another Finance Assistant you will ensure the smooth operation of all Finance matters.
Primarily, this role will provide an effective and efficient financial and administrative support to the Finance team, as well as contributing to quality customer service, both internally and externally and, performing the day-to-day processing of financial transactions to ensure that the Company finances are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner. The role requires a high level of numeracy, communication and time management skills.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Process Sales Ledger entries from source documents, create and distribute customer statements.
* Follow credit control procedures to ensure prompt settlement of customer account balances.
* Process customer receipts and reconcile customer accounts.
* Process supplier invoices, reconcile supplier statements and deal with supplier queries.
* Create and distribute supplier remittance advices.
* Provide administrative support such as scanning, filing, data entry, answering phones and processing incoming mail.
* Proactively look for ways of improving the efficiency and quality of output within the financial processes.
* Liaise with customers and suppliers via phone and email, ensuring the best possible levels of customer service.
* Bank postings and daily bank reconciliations
* Recording turnover daily to assist with variance analysis
* Finalise credit applications and complete credit checks for new customers
* Process payment runs
* Assist in company sustainability and record carbon monitoring data.
* Record and reconcile the petty cash.
What you’ll need to succeed
* Experience using accounting software.
* AAT or part qualified is desirable.
* A good understanding of accounting principles through either relevant experience or studying for an accounting qualification.
* Microsoft Office [Word, Excel, Outlook] to Intermediate level. Lookups and pivot tables desired.
* Ability to input accounting data into the accounting system with speed and accuracy.

* Confident and resourceful
* Must have ability to work well within a team, in a busy office environment that often demands high levels of concentration.
* Able to pro-actively manage workload with good time management skills.
* Willingness to accept responsibility and use initiative when needed.
* Readily adaptable to changes in working procedures and practices and is open to opportunities to improve own skills
* Flexible attitude to cover other tasks
Part time hours 24 to 30 hours per week.
The Company operates on a 4 day working week, working Monday - Thursday
