Job Description Weatherford have an excellent opportunity for an Engineering Technician to join our team. This role is based in Loughborough. Your role will be to manufacture and assemble complex precision tools, assemblies, spare parts, modular spares and undertake repairs and maintenance to specification; in line with quality, quantity, cost, and time requirements; in full compliance within health and safety procedures and requirements. You’ll liaise with engineering for any drawing changes, corrective actions, and opportunities for improvement. You’ll complete the assembly of prototype tools and equipment for engineering and provide feedback for any improvements or changes that need be made. At each stage within the assembly process, to work with inspection, wiring, and test departments to ensure that precision aspects and continuity is maintained. Assist the design engineers by contributing to discussions on how prototype designs can be mechanically assembled and improved. Ensure delivery times are met, and are aligned with the master manufacturing schedule, customer needs and requirements. Assist engineering in the continuous improvement of manufactured equipment, through discussion and implementation where changes are agreed. Ensure all aspects of Health, Safety and Quality are always maintained. Ensure our internal systems, Compact Support and Microsoft Dynamics are maintained and updated with both labour hours bookings and tool assembly information and test data. Requirements Required 3-5 years experience in engineering testing/mechanical engineering (generic experience). Apprenticeship in mechanical engineering or combination of college and experience, but if candidates have time served rather than a formal qualification, this is also welcome. Mechanical assembly experience. Good verbal communication skills. Basic computer skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Preferred Mechanical engineering degree preferred but not essential.
