As a part of our Retail team, your role will help to support our mission of preventing extinction whilst ensuring we continue to be an amazing, award winning visitor attraction.
The Role:
Our Retail Stores Assistants help create inspirational days out for visitors by ensuring our stock is available to purchase across our site. Your duties will include receiving and inspecting retail goods, putting them into our ePOS system, arranging stock into our warehouse, selecting inventory, and transporting it to our off-site location as well as our onsite shops and pop-ups every day. This also covers the fulfilment and processing of our on-line store. This is a fast-paced role and would suit someone who enjoys being part of a team to make our stores a success.
The Package
* Temporary contract, starting 29th March 2025, until 4th January 2026.
* Rate of pay of £11.55 per hour regardless of age (increasing to £12.21 effective from 1st April 2025)
* Working on a rota basis with a minimum of 8 hours per week up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Hours will vary and can be significantly more during busy periods. This includes weekends, bank holidays and evenings.

Our Requirements
* Have numerical skills and accuracy - you will be working with goods received notes, line numbers, barcodes, picking lists and carrying out stock takes.
* Be positive, flexible and approachable with a “can do” attitude.
* Be able to carry out physical work
* Have strong organisational skills and be able to prioritise daily tasks to ensure our stock gets to the shelves efficiently and our visitors can leave Chester Zoo with the souvenir they have always wanted.
* Experience of working within a fast paced Retail Stores environment, as well as experience of using EPOS systems would be advantageous.
Interviews will be held on Friday 14th March and Sunday 16th March only.
Flexibility in these roles is key, so the successful candidates must be able to work up to 5 days out of 7 every week. This will include evenings until 10pm, weekends, mid-week and bank holidays as rostered.
