Some key information Flexible hybrid working Permanent position We offer great training and development opportunities, along with a supportive and skilled permanent management team. What will I be doing? Let’s be honest being a social worker isn’t the job you always thought it might be. There’s paperwork, panels, planning, policies, and procedures (amongst other things, we ran out of P’s) yet we still get to spend time with children and their families. That is the joy we get from our job - working with these brilliant children who have additional needs who teach us something new every day (like all children do). We know that many of you will not have considered working for Children with Disabilities (CWD) before, thinking you may not have the right skills knowledge or experience. We’ll teach you what you need to know. Others may think the work is mundane or less dynamic than other areas of social work, they're wrong For a start, the work itself is fascinating, varied and rewarding. Here’s what one of our team had to say about it: “Even if looked for a job elsewhere, it would still be CWD. I love the complexity. You have to work harder to understand what is happening for children, you have to be more creative and 'think outside the box' to get the best outcomes for children with additional needs." We have a stable management team that takes a real pride in what we do. They care. They’re approachable. They’re supportive. They want to see you develop and progress in your career. Ultimately, we know why you do this job - we know that you make children’s lives better every time you go to work So, if you were thinking of a change in your social work journey, then maybe give the CWD team consideration, you won't regret it What kind of experience or qualifications do I need? You will need to be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England and have substantial experience working with children and families in social work.
