The ideal applicant will:

Main duties of the job
* Be the first point of contact in welcoming and answering patient/visitor queries to the hospital.
* Effectively deal with all incoming telephone calls via switchboard both internally and externally.
* Take requests for patient notes and forward notes to the appropriate destination.
* Take delivery of goods and effectively deal with delivery notes and forward complete paperwork of orders.
* Book patients into x-ray appointments once they have been assessed.

Person Specification
Training & Qualifications
* GCSE grade C or above in English language and Maths or equivalent.
Experience
* Substantial relevant clerical experience e.g., customer care, keyboard skills, organisation.
Knowledge & Skills
* Professional telephone skills/manner.
* Excellent face-to-face verbal communication with potentially anxious and distressed patients and visitors.
* Working knowledge of computerised systems and ability to learn quickly.
* Ability to work effectively alone or as part of a team.
