About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Estates Surveyor to join our Assets, Property & Facilities Management Team. In this role, you will support the Council’s strategic objectives by providing a wide range of valuation, estate management, and other professional services. The successful candidate will contribute to managing the Council’s asset portfolio effectively, focusing on identifying and delivering key property-related projects.
Main Responsibilities
Undertake valuations, development appraisals, and prepare business cases to assist senior managers in their decision-making process.
Support the Council’s growth strategy by managing property-related projects, including the negotiation of property transactions with private landowners.
Provide professional advice on property-related issues, ensuring compliance with legal documents and legislation.
Identify opportunities to maintain the Council’s financial stability through effective use and management of the Council’s property assets.
Conduct comprehensive reviews of the Council’s property portfolio to identify opportunities for service improvement, financial gain, and regeneration benefits.
Work with partner organisations and Council departments to achieve common goals and support project implementation.

Candidate Profile

Chartered membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Proven commercial property experience, with a track record in estate management, development appraisals, and valuations.
Experience in managing property-related projects with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to produce accurate reports and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in using property-related IT systems and software.
