Mental Health Practitioner
Location: Isle of Sheppey – HMP Elmley and HMP Swaleside
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £39,338-£46,962 per annum, dependent on experience

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 6 Senior Practitioners to join the Mental Health team at HMP Elmley and HMP Swaleside.
What will you be doing?
The post holder will be an expert practitioner, and a source of expert advice to the Primary Care team, Substance Misuse team, Prison staff, and Offenders. With overall responsibility for the mental and physical health and well-being of offenders in their care; operational management and day-to-day leadership of the In-reach team at HMP Elmley and HMP Swaleside.
· To provide specialist mental healthcare to offenders and to work as part of the Mental Health Team and wider mental health services.
· To deliver a range of specialist interventions at primary and secondary care level; to include
· Referral management, screening assessment, triage, and evidence-based interventions
· Care Planning and risk assessing
· One-to-one and group-work facilitation
· Managing a mixed and challenging caseload including people struggling with severe enduring mental illness, personality difficulties and neurodevelopmental problems.
Oxleas is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified RMN with experience in any of the following areas:
· Learning Disability
· Personality Disorder
· Substance Misuse/Dual Diagnosis
What do you need?
NMC Registration
Degree supplemented by diploma, specialist training
Minimum of 2 years’ post qualification as an RMN
Extensive clinical experience
Supervisory experience of junior staff and students
