We look after some of the most vulnerable people of Bradford, serving over 700 meals a week, organising wellbeing support and providing a space for our guests to feel safe.
Our small, but perfectly formed team, are after an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day to day running of our charity.

Job Title: Operations Manager
Location:The Immanuel Centre, 29/31 Westgate, Bradford, BD1 2QT
Hours: 35 hours a week, to be worked between Monday - Friday 8am-5pm. Your working pattern will vary depending on current needs and priorities.
Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on experience, with 25 days annual leave.
We’re looking for an organised, proactive and experienced Operations Manager, with a heart for the people of Bradford. Reporting to the Trustees, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the charity, leading a team of colleagues and volunteers and working with the Trustees to look at how we evolve the work the charity already does to the next level.
About the Immanuel Project: Serving the homeless and most vulnerable in Bradford
The Immanuel Project is a Bradford based faith-based charity, supported mainly by volunteers. Starting in 2013, we have grown significantly over the years but our core mission remains the same; to serve and support the homeless and vulnerable within the Bradford and District Community (our guests). We want to create a secure and welcoming environment for those who really need our help.
We open our doors to our guests 5 days a week, providing breakfast and hot lunches, essential everyday items, and clothing & food. We give emotional and practical support and most importantly a listening ear in a warm, safe & comfortable environment at our Community Hub in the centre of Bradford.
What we need from the role
Day to day running of the service, including:
* Work with the cook to ensure menu planning, ordering and stock control/food margins monitoring.
* Managing budgets, portion control and quality.
* Overseeing the preparation of the food and the smooth and safe delivery of the service.
* Working with the wellbeing/outreach worker to maintain a positive partnership and create a fantastic experience for our invaluable volunteers.
Managing, supporting and development of the team, including:
* Line management of our employed colleagues, coordinating rota’s and holiday requests etc.
* Induction of kitchen volunteers.
* Identifying training needs for the team.
* Motivate and engage the team.
Finance and Health & Safety requirements, including:
* Bank reconciliations and invoice management.
* Reporting of maintenance and security issues.
* Responsibility for making sure National Safety and Food Standards, Environment Health Officers and Health and Safety etc. standards are met and audits are carried out to a high standard.
Development of the service, including:
* Planning and delivering fundraising initiatives.
* Regular reports to trustees meeting, bringing insights on how things are going to influence our strategy and identify opportunities.
* Oversee and monitor the wellbeing plan and activity.
We are looking for someone who:
* Has a real passion for our guests, some of the most vulnerable within the Bradford and district community and can show kindness and empathy.
* Is good at leading and motivating a team and isn’t afraid to roll their sleeves up.
* Has a passion for helping others and really understands the difference our charity makes.
* Naturally puts people at ease and can quickly build strong relationships.
* Likes developing and delivering new ideas.
* Experience in a catering environment would be beneficial but not essential.
