Job summary This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic Gynaecology team at Royal United Hospitals in Bath. We are looking for an experienced nurse in the field of gynaecology to work with our dedicated team to deliver and develop a gold standard service to our patients. You will have the freedom to develop the role,with a view to working as Senior Sister, leading and managing team performance, thus enhancing patient experience, improving patient outcomes and contributing to the organisational priorities of improved patient flow, reduction in sickness levels and safe and effective deployment of the nursing workforce. You will also be able totrain to become a gynaecology specialist nurse with the early pregnancy, gynaecology emergency and termination services. This will be within a friendly and supportive environment proudly maintained by the gynaecology department. We will provide a supportive learning environment and development of clinical skills to provide a gold standard level of care for our patients Main duties of the job As senior sister/charge nurse you will work closely with the Matron and gynaecology triumvirate regarding all quality performance and management issues and will be: o Accountable for the 24-hour care, delivery and management of the Gynaecology Outpatients, including the supervision of staff and students o Expected to maintain a visible presence in the gynaecology outpatients department and provide a clear focus for effective clinical leadership to the nursing team including the shared day to day leadership, management and development of the Nurse led early pregnancy assessment and Termination clinics. o To demonstrate clinical expertise in early pregnancy/termination and sexual health and gynaecological care. o Named budget holder and authorised signatory for financial resources with responsibility for managing ward/area resources in an effective manner. o Responsible for the implementation of audit, quality and risk management initiatives in the ward and publicising and sharing good practice with the team and peers o Accountable for the effective management of staffs contracted hours, sickness, absence and training through the e-Roster, planning and reviewing daily staffing and critically review monthly nurse staffing reports Please see the attached job description for detailed duties of the job.
