Due to the Company’s continued success, we are looking to expand the Design Team in the Mansfield area and are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated CAD Technician. CAD Technician– Ref: V305
Based in Mansfield
This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your career within the security and communications industry.
The role involves:
1. Provide CAD resource for the Design Department and wider organisation.
2. Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and schematics that include locations, materials, schedules, and other relevant information necessary for installation.
3. Collaborate with the design team and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and incorporate changes or modifications into drawings as needed.
4. Ensure that comprehensive and accurate information and drawings are provided to the installation team.
5. Make sure that every drawing is legible and professional and adheres to all applicable standards.
6. Review drawings for errors, inconsistencies, and compliance with manufacturing and regulatory standards, making the necessary corrections and modifications.
7. Continue and expand the CAD department’s use of AutoCAD and Revit.
8. Customise and standardise the CAD/Revit processes to ensure the highest level of productivity.
9. Organise and maintain drawings and related project files in accordance with the company’s document control procedure.
10. Keep up to date with new CAD software and technologies to ensure the Company is kept abreast of the latest CAD systems.
Key experience/qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years AutoCAD and Revit experience would be advantageous, preferably in the fire and security, or related sector.
2. Excellent spoken and written English is essential.
3. A degree or other technical qualification in architecture, design, engineering or construction would be advantageous, but not essential.
Skills and Capabilities:
1. Proven competence in the use of AutoCAD & Revit software, as well as MS Office applications.
2. Excellent attention to detail.
3. Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
4. Prior experience in a demand led CAD office environment.
5. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in written form.
6. Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work along, and coordinate with other teams.
7. Excellent project planning and time management skills.
8. Trustworthy with good judgement and common-sense decision-making skills.
Working hours: Monday – Friday, 8.00am – 5.00pm (Permanent)
