The Firm:
Our client is a well-known and rapidly growing CA firm whose energy, adaptation, and embracement of tech and automation sets them apart from their local competitors. They have invested heavily into the growth of their business over the past 2 years and are now reaping the rewards with the employee base growing and are now starting to compete with some larger and better-known firms in Scotland.
The Role:
Due to an expanding client base, our client is looking to strengthen the team further by recruiting an Agricultural Accounting Manager. This role would suit an experienced accountancy or tax professional who currently works with Agri-business and is seeking a change.
The successful candidate will take on the role of Agriculture Accounting Manager for a varied portfolio of clients ranging from sole traders and partnerships to limited companies.
With offices in the Scottish Borders and Penrith, there is flexibility on where the successful candidate can be based.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Managing all aspects of your clients' accountancy affairs to ensure an excellent service is provided
* Mentoring junior staff, and reviewing their work
* Managing Preparation of annual accounts and Tax complexities
* VAT work related to the specific sector, including Partial Exemption checks, and identifying issues
* Collaborating with Farmers Averaging calculations, Capital Allowances, and Heritable and Capital Accounts
* Building and strengthening current client relationships and dealing with their day-to-day queries
* Organising and attending client meetings off-site and in-office
Key Experience:
* Experience working in a similar role within an accountancy practice
* Excellent communication skills and a keen willingness to learn and develop
* Being part or fully qualified in a professional accountancy qualification is preferred but sector experience is more relevant
* An ability to connect and build strong long-lasting relationships within the Agriculture community
