Hunts Recruitment is looking for Support Workers for a residential home in the Tonbridge/Hildenborough area. This home supports 5 individuals with learning disabilities, autism, communication difficulties, and challenging behaviours.
Salary: GBP23,264 - GBP27,944 per annum
Job type: Full-time hours across Monday to Sunday
Shifts: Monday - Sunday including earlies, mids, lates, sleep ins, and/or waking nights
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is a must for this position.
No two days are the same, but your day might look like this:
1. Supporting individuals to be engaged in all day-to-day living activities, including making full use of their community and beyond.
2. Supporting individuals with social activities and connecting with family and friends.
3. Keeping the home clean and fresh, and going shopping.
4. Providing and encouraging personal care.
Key Skills Required:
Whilst previous experience is desirable, it is not essential as training is provided. However, you must have:
1. A compassionate, empathic, and patient approach, with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable individuals.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with the people we support, their families, and colleagues.
3. A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and digital systems used in social care settings.
4. A willingness to provide personal care whilst supporting individuals to maintain privacy and dignity.
5. A willingness to learn non-verbal communication methods e.g. Makaton.
6. The ability to support the people we support to prepare ingredients and cook a range of healthy meals to maintain their dietary health.
7. A willingness to undertake specialised training e.g. positive behaviour support to effectively support the residents and their changing needs.
8. A full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle.
