Location: This role allows you to be based anywhere in the UK, you could work remotely with occasional travel to meet up with your team in the office. Successful candidate for this vacancy will be in Senior Control Engineer role in our growing "Substation Control Systems Team" with the responsibility of delivering innovative solutions for our customers and technically leading our delivery team on building new and upgrade existing infrastructure using Siemens latest portfolio of control systems to ensure future sustainability for T&D network. Additionally, you will provide pre-sales support to our sales and proposal teams and support the project manager and commercial team to deliver projects on target and within budget. Areas of Responsibilities for the role: •As our Senior Controls Engineer, you will be the technical lead on the projects. •Ensure compliance with customer technical specifications on allocated projects. •Production/checking of Design documentation like I/O Schedules, Functional Design Specifications and Design Intent Documents. •Development and configuration of engineering control solutions. •Production/checking of test documentation. •Carry out FAT activities. •Provide SAT support including RAMS •Responsible for technical issues/support on allocated projects •Ensuring that Siemens solutions meet the requirements of the latest policies and standards. •Attend internal and external design reviews providing technical mentorship •Provide technical feedback for tendering activities. •Mentoring of apprentices / graduates within the business •Implement all business compliance requirements in line with Company policies, including Business Conduct Guidelines & Confidential Information •Promote Siemens Zero Harm Safety Initiative and culture. •Recognise and Reward achievements and good practice. What skills and experience you will bring to the role: •Experience of UK-National Grid delivery and specifications / standards are important. •A minimum qualification of HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering plus experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Industry. •Whilst this role has no requirement for line management, it would be encouraged to provide mentoring of other team members. •Experience in a similar role involving configuration and testing of medium to large scale SCADA systems, control systems, automation systems and communication infrastructure.
