Copello are seeking a Head of Procurement & Logistics to lead and oversee all procurement and logistics operations within a aerospace manufacturing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient and cost-effective sourcing of consumables, parts, materials, major vendor components, subcontracts, and services, with a strong focus on aviation standards. This role requires expertise in procurement strategy, supplier negotiations, and supply chain risk management, as well as the ability to drive innovation and maintain regulatory compliance.
The Head of Procurement will lead procurement of consumables, parts, materials, major vendor components, subcontracts, and services, ensuring adherence to aviation standards. With an aim to achieve Performance Indicators related to cost savings and contribute to the overall financial efficiency of the business. The Head of Procurement will mentor and coach the procurement and logistics teams, driving best value, high-quality on-time delivery, and Just-in-Time processes within manufacturing and MRO environments with the ability to negotiate with suppliers to secure the best commercial terms and manage key procurement projects. The Head of Procurement will be expected to explore new sourcing methods and drive innovation, while maintaining regulatory compliance and managing supply chain risks.
Qualifications
* Professional education with CILT / CIPS – Level 5 or equivalent.
* 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the aviation sector.
* Strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and effective communication abilities.
* Ability to make quick decisions, resolve issues under pressure, and manage multiple priorities.
The Head of Procurement will lead the procurement function, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of consumables, parts, and services on a day to day basis. The leading candidate will develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, continuously evaluating their performance and ensuring effective commercial terms are in place. Implement and manage an inventory system aimed at ensuring zero stock-outs and monitor stock levels to minimize waste and carrying costs. This will suit a Procurement Professional who has worked within the Aerospace industry and has experience of the regulations within Aviation as well as ITAR regulations.
