Our client is an award-winning consultancy who deliver energy efficiency, carbon management and cost reduction solutions to some of the most recognised brands in the country. They have recently secured a large pipeline of work; therefore, they are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer on a full time, permanent basis to join them from their office in Brierley Hill, Birmingham.
In this role the successful candidate would be working as part of the design team to deliver projects from feasibility through to construction. This would predominantly be government funded decarbonisation projects in the public sector.
Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer Position Remuneration
Salary: £30k - £35k (Guide only - DOE)
Bonus - £4k

Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview
1. Design, specifications, and construction stage project management of projects (all aspects of Mechanical Services), this will include all RIBA stages.
2. Run and lead their own projects. This will be multiple projects at any one time.
3. Ensuring all projects are designed and implemented to meet British Standards and other appropriate legislation.
4. Mechanical Services Feasibility Study and Energy Efficiency Reports, air source heat pumps, plant room refurbishments, heating and domestic hot water projects.
5. Good knowledge of mechanical design calculations for HVAC installations.
6. Attend project meetings.
7. Attend regular Design Department meetings where workload schedules will be planned.
8. Develop good relationships with each team member.
9. Assist with implementing QA procedures for all projects.
Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer Position Requirements
1. Professionally qualified to degree level or equivalent.
2. Ideally professionally registered with CIBSE and/or IET.
3. Experience in Mechanical engineering, engineering consultancy and/or mechanical installations.
4. Experience in design calculation software packages: Design Builder, Heavcomp, TAS etc.
5. Good working knowledge of industry regulations, mechanical design and installations.
6. Good working knowledge of utility services both new connections and disconnections.
7. Able to manage/prioritise workload to meet deadlines whilst maintaining good communication with client and design teams.
