Teaching Assistant Early Years
Hours of Post: 32.5 hours per week
Work Pattern: Monday - Friday
Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time only
Salary Grade: Scale 3, points 5 to 6 - £24,790 - £25,183 FTE
(salary will be pro rata to term time hours)
Start Date of Post: Monday 6th January 2025
The children, staff and Governing Body at St Thomas’ CE VA Primary School, Heaton Chapel are looking for a dedicated and experienced teaching assistant to support them on their creative learning journey. We are proud of our commitment to the overall wellbeing of our children, and would like to recruit a team member who can enhance their experience further.
The successful candidate will be involved in assessing and tracking the progression of the pupils and developing positive learning behaviours within the classroom. From time to time, the successful candidate will also be required to provide classroom cover.
The successful candidate will:
have experience of working in Early Years and potentially other Key Stages
have the ability to inspire children and provide high quality learning experiences
be an excellent classroom practitioner with a deep understanding of how children learn
have very high expectations of children’s attainment and behaviour
be a constructive team player
be able to work within and uphold our Christian values of joy, perseverance, community, compassion, trust and faith
be able to work with small groups on intervention programmes, planned by the teacher
