To act as specialist clinician for the Physiotherapy Service within the Acute Therapy team at Calderdale Royal Hospital. Assessing and treating patients on the Acute Medical and Orthopaedic wards. Supporting the Clinical Lead with evolving and embedding best practice into the clinical area.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking to recruit a band 6 physiotherapist with experience working within elderly medicine and elective orthopaedics. Following training, you will also be expected to work across our 'front end' areas including the Emergency Dept and Acute floors as required. There will also be a requirement to join the respiratory on-call service.
This post will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to become involved in not only therapy delivery with patients but also service delivery experience, the supervision of staff, training delivery, and deputising as required for the Clinical Lead in their absence. In return, the successful candidate can expect structured supervision, annual development plans that guide their training and development needs throughout the year, and training relevant to their learning needs.
About us
This post will primarily be based at CRH although there will be times where you will be required to cover the service at HRI. The in-patient services provide therapy interventions across a 7-day rota. Hours of work cover the service between 8-6pm. In addition, there is an on-call, overnight respiratory physiotherapy service which the successful candidate would also be expected to participate in. Our on-call staff benefit from a comprehensive on-call training package, buddy system upon commencing on-call, and annual update training.
