We are looking for experienced Support Workers to work with individuals who have mental health issues, Autism, learning disabilities, or physical disabilities, providing live-in care to them in their own homes. These opportunities will be throughout the UK.
Main Duties include:
1. Living in a client's home for a period of time and providing them with support as per their care plans.
2. Giving and receiving reports on the condition and progress of service users as instructed and in accordance with service users’ care at all times.
3. Ensuring that service users gain maximum benefit from their care and support provided by CAP247 Care.
4. Communicating with service users, their relatives, and visitors in a polite and courteous manner, respecting their individual needs, beliefs, wishes, and preferences.
5. Maintaining confidentiality of information relating to service users and the organization.
6. Protecting service users from danger and abuse.
7. Assisting service users with their personal hygiene according to their choice and preference and continence needs and pressure area care, if required.
8. Grooming and dressing according to service users' wishes, always maintaining dignity and privacy.
9. Providing emotional support for individuals and their families.
10. Supporting service users with payment of bills, attending GP appointments, writing letters, etc.
11. Encouraging and supporting the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
12. Teaching life skills, such as shopping, using public transport, and paying bills.
13. Working with other healthcare professionals to ensure that all care needs meet the highest possible standards.
14. Preparing service users and their environment for safe moving and handling using appropriate equipment as trained.
15. Maintaining the health and safety of yourself and others by identifying and reporting any potential danger, and adhering to health & safety training and policies.
16. Assisting and supporting service users with all daily living tasks including activities and cooking.
17. Working with individuals who require the use of behavior support and risk management.
Qualifications/Skills:
1. Must have an in-date Enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to complete one).
2. Care certificate or equivalent in Health and Social Care (diploma in Health and Social Care, NVQ 2+).
3. Secondary/high school diploma or equivalent.
4. Mandatory trainings.
5. At least 6 months UK experience in the field.
6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
7. Empathy and compassion.
8. Problem-solving and organizational skills.
9. Time management skills.
10. Be willing to live in the client's home to provide care.
