Commercial Finance Business Partner
Paisley - hybrid
Highly competitive salary and benefits
Iconic Resourcing are delighted to once again be partnering with our key client and Scottish institution, Loganair, in their search for a Commercial Finance Business Partner following an internal promotion. Loganair has been flying since 1962 and serves Scandinavia and the British Isles. Alongside its commercial activities, Loganair provides a key lifeline to those who call the Scottish Islands home.
Working closely with the Chief Commercial Officer, the Head of Commercial Finance and the FP&A function, this role focuses on driving business projects, including tenders, new route opportunities and cost-saving initiatives, to deliver measurable value to the bottom line. While the FP&A team will handle the production of financial numbers, this role is integral in communicating business activities to finance, ensuring accurate financial commentary and analysis, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business partnering with commercial teams - you will be the main finance point of contact for the operations team, building strong relationships with Commercial stakeholders to understand and anticipate the financial implications of business decisions, ensuring alignment with financial and strategic objectives.
2. Drive key business projects, including new route opportunities, tenders, and cost-saving initiatives, to deliver financial value and operational improvements.
3. Provide clear, concise financial insights to support pricing decisions, contract negotiations, and other commercial activities.
4. Maintain effective communication with the FP&A team and Head of Commercial Finance to ensure business activities are reflected accurately in financial outputs, including management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.
5. Partner with the FP&A team to analyse variances between actuals, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring business drivers are clearly articulated.
6. Track and report on the financial outcomes of projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
Previous Experience
The successful candidate will be a strong commercial finance professional, likely currently working in an FP&A, Finance Business Partner or Project Accounting role. A finance qualification would be preferable but is not a requirement, should experience be relevant for the role. A commercial mindset is essential, the successful candidate will find themselves working closer to the operations and commercial team than with finance most of the time. Previous airline or similar sector experience would be highly advantageous but not a requirement.
Strong business partnering skills are essential for the role and will be demonstrated at interview. Strong Excel skills are required and financial modelling skills would be desirable.
On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package with hybrid working from the office at Glasgow Airport.
