UHI North, West and Hebrides is looking to recruit a Sustainability Officer to coordinate and drive forward our bold environmental agenda. This is your chance to help shape a greener future for our communities across some of the most beautiful and ecologically significant landscapes in Scotland. Responsibilities: The post holders will be responsible for: · Be the driving force behind our new Sustainability Taskforce · Coordinate the creation and delivery of a tailored Sustainability Action Plan aligned to the UHI-wide strategy · Build partnerships with local organisations, students, and staff to embed sustainability into everything we do · Track and report emissions, champion biodiversity initiatives, and support low-carbon campus projects · Shout about our successes and raise awareness internally and externally · Bring people together from across departments and disciplines to make real progress on net zero, biodiversity, and beyond Qualifications, Experience and Skills: The suitable candidates will hold a Degree (or equivalent) in Sustainability, Environmental Science or related field. Experience juggling multiple stakeholders and projects. Solid understanding of sustainability principles and practice, particularly in public or education settings. The ability to work independently and collaboratively – and actually get things done. A full driving licence and willingness to travel across our campuses. Desirable but not deal-breaking: IEMA/CIEWM Membership; Knowledge of the EAUC Roadmap or UHI Structures and ability to communicate in Gaelic. Salary: £33,473 - £35,890 per annum, pro rata.
