We are looking to recruit Personal Assistants for young people up to the age of 17 years. (On behalf of families)
A Personal Assistant works directly with one or more individuals to support them with various aspects of their daily life so that they can live it in a way they choose.
You will be employed directly by the family of the person who needs care and support.
Daily tasks could include help with communication, physical tasks, facilitating and escorting to activities (to be agreed with family) and some level of personal care (depending on the needs of the child)
Experience with young children desirable. Previous work with disabilities an advantage but neither are necessary as additional training will be provided. Training will be given, if required, in areas such as Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, Manual Handling and Paediatric First Aid. A full enhanced DBS check will be required prior to starting with the family and will be provided.
Due to the nature of some of the families specific needs, male Personal Assistants have been requested so we would greatly welcome both male and female applicants. As a Personal Assistant, you are likely to be involved in many aspects of your employers life and may be asked to support in the home, at leisure or at work. The opportunity to focus directly on the needs of the individual and the diversity of the role is what often attracts people to this type of work.
Hours per week could be from 1 hour - full time. Hours to be agreed dependent of needs and requirements of the family and your availability. After school hours and weekends needed.
Due to the nature of the job, the minimum required age of applicants is 17 years + and would ideally live in Halton and the surrounding boroughs.
Wage will be £11.44 per hour worked. Drivers preferred.
