Part-Time Support Worker – 20 Hours Weekly at CrossReach
CrossReach is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Support Worker to join its team in Edinburgh. This rewarding role offers 20 hours per week, providing essential support to individuals who rely on care services to live fulfilling and independent lives.
Candidates should have basic IT skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office and complete e-learning modules as part of ongoing professional development. Whether you’re experienced in care or looking to start a career in the sector, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in your community with one of Scotland’s most respected social care providers.
About CrossReach
CrossReach is a leading not-for-profit organisation offering a diverse range of social care services throughout Scotland. With over 150 years of experience, CrossReach adapts to the evolving needs of the communities it serves.
About the Role
At CrossReach, we’ve been making a difference for over 150 years – and we’re still going strong. Our support services for people with learning disabilities are all about enabling independence, building confidence, and creating meaningful moments every single day. And now, we’re looking for someone who shares our values to join the team as a Support Worker.
What does the role involve?
As a Support Worker, you’ll play a key role in supporting adults with learning disabilities to live full, rewarding lives. Whether it’s helping someone manage their own home, attend a job interview, or simply enjoy a hobby they love – no two days are ever the same.
* Provide personalised, high-quality care and support in line with individual care plans
* Promote choice, dignity, inclusion, and independence
* Support daily living tasks – including personal care, nutrition, and household tasks
* Help individuals access work, education, and social opportunities
* Build strong relationships with families, professionals, and your team
* Be a Key Worker – leading reviews, support planning and risk assessments
* Carry out sleepovers as part of a 24-hour rota
* Ensure health, safety, and wellbeing are always front of mind
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone with a big heart, a level head, and a natural way with people. You’ll be someone who can work independently and take the lead when needed, but who’s also a brilliant team player.
Ideally, you’ll have:
* Experience in social care (although it’s not essential – we’ll provide full training)
* SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or a willingness to work towards it
* Basic IT skills – you’ll use Microsoft Office and complete e-learning
* A full understanding of what it means to work in a values-based and person-centred way
* Most importantly, this role has a genuine occupational requirement (under the Equality Act 2010) for you to have a Christian faith and a willingness to work within and uphold CrossReach’s Christian ethos.
Why work for CrossReach?
* A real opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives
* A supportive, values-driven team who believe in what they do
* Ongoing learning and development opportunities
* Access to a pension, health and wellbeing support, and other staff benefits
* A workplace where your faith and values aren’t just welcome – they’re essential
This post requires you to be a member of the PVG Scheme and to register with the SSSC. We’ll guide and support you through both.
If you’re looking for more than just a job – if you want to be part of something meaningful – we’d love to hear from you.
Apply today and start your journey with CrossReach, where care, compassion, and community come first.
