Job Opportunity: Chief Regional Engineer

Your Mission
As the Chief Regional Engineer, you will:
* Inspire Change: Drive engineering capability improvements and ensure technical compliance across the region.
* Lead with Impact: Build a cutting-edge engineering organisation that delivers sustainable asset performance and integrity to meet customer and network targets.
* Elevate Standards: Develop and maintain system safety, project approvals, and quality assurance while embedding systems engineering excellence.
* Influence the Future: Work closely with stakeholders and contribute to shaping national policies, standards, and best practices for the railway industry.
Key Accountabilities
Your leadership will drive results in:
* Risk Management: Establishing assurance and verification processes for maintenance, asset management, and capital works.
* Engineering Excellence: Leading the development of technical competency frameworks and championing system safety and reliability.
* Policy Leadership: Driving regional policy setting, technical standards, and improvement of asset policies.
* Innovation and Collaboration: Working with suppliers to incorporate safety by design and leveraging cutting-edge technologies.
* Knowledge Sharing: Leading engineering briefings, implementing lessons learnt, and promoting best practices across the organisation.
* Talent Development: Assessing and improving technical competence, while building a robust succession pipeline.
* Strategic Alignment: Directing the regional technical strategy to enhance asset performance and alignment with corporate goals.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for an exceptional leader with:
* Credentials and Leadership: Chartered Engineer status, working towards Fellowship, and a proven track record of leading a complex organisation utilising a matrix organisation structure.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Strong experience negotiating at senior levels and balancing diverse perspectives.
* Regulated Sector Expertise: A background in working in regulated industries, such as rail, road, aviation, water, electricity etc.
* Integrity and Compliance: Unwavering commitment to maintaining safety, quality, and legislative compliance.
* Collaborative Leadership: Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in a virtual environment, fostering innovation and delivering results.
* Strategic Vision: Commercially aware and adept at aligning technical excellence with business priorities.
