Behaviour Mentor (SEN Teaching Assistant) Location: Wheatley Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-time Monarch Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor (SEN Teaching Assistant) to join our team and support students with special educational needs at a local special school in Wheatley. About the Role As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in assisting students with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), physical disabilities, and other learning challenges. Your primary responsibilities will include: Supporting students in their academic, social, and emotional development. Assisting with personalised learning plans tailored to individual needs. Promoting positive behaviour and implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviours. Providing one-to-one or small group support as required. Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other staff to create a nurturing learning environment. About You The ideal candidate will: Have experience working with children or young people with SEN (experience in a school setting is desirable). Demonstrate patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills. Be adaptable and proactive in responding to students' diverse needs. Hold relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (not essential but beneficial). Have a current enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
