We have an exciting Fixed-Term (12 Months) opportunity for you to join our Reward, Benefits & Wellbeing Team, which forms part of our wider People function. As a subject matter expert in all things compensation, you will focus your attention on making sure our pay is competitive with the market and that we reward our colleagues fairly, equitably for the positive contribution they make to the success of Pets.
About your role and responsibilities
Within this role, you will:
* Take the lead on delivering and administering the data insights that will help stakeholders to make informed decisions relating to the Pets annual pay review and bonus processes
* Conduct benchmarking assessments using the Willis Towers Watson methodology to grade job profiles and make appropriate recommendations to hiring managers and HR colleagues as the SME for reward and compensation
* Prepare data for the annual salary survey submissions to our third-party reward partners WTW and Alan Jones.
* Build knowledge and analyse market data and provide insights into compensation and benefit trends across various markets relevant to Pets and make recommendations on how we can continuously improve our reward offering to colleagues
* Support the business on any compensation related ad hoc projects such as those relating to job architecture, allowances and premiums, long term incentive plans and National Living Wage
* Provide compensation data and analytics to support with the preparation and publication of board papers and official publications such as the Pets annual report.
About You:

You must be comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation, displaying a high level of analytical intelligence. Essential skills:
* Extensive operational reward (compensation) experience of 3-5 years delivering successful pay review cycles, benchmarking and job evaluations, ideally either within a Plc and/or UK retail business
* An analytical mindset with the ability to work with large data sets and produce meaningful information in the most suitable format and media for stakeholders to understand
* Advanced Excel skills and attention to detail are essential, with experience in Power BI and other modelling tools also desirable.
* Highly organised and methodical in your approach to work, maintaining accurate records for auditing and a degree of flexibility when managing stakeholder expectations
* Excellent communicator both verbal and written, ability to influence and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
Desirable skills:
* Wider reward knowledge of company benefits and wellbeing initiatives, e.g. cycle to work scheme, private health care etc
* An understanding of share plans, including SAYE, LTIPs, Restricted Stock Plans and bonus deferral schemes
* Experience working with SuccessFactors HR system
* Knowledge of Willis Towers Watson job architecture and evaluation methodology
