I am looking to recruit 2 part time Personal/Home Care Assistants to join my daughter’s (J) support team.
You should have experience of supporting someone with complex health, physical and learning difficulties.
Care will be in our home, working alongside our full-time carer but you will also at times be working on your own, we are a very busy household comprising of Mum, brother, brothers girlfriend and J, we also have a dog, cat and tortoise.
J needs full support in all aspects of daily living, including continence care, personal care (showering, hair washing, teeth brushing). She is tube fed and a wheelchair user, she has a hoist to move her from bed to chair to wheelchair.
J also has uncontrolled epilepsy and can have days where her seizure severely impact on her.
Good spoken English is desirable as J has communication difficulties.
Its important that J is involved in activities she enjoys being out and about, going to garden centres, SPACE, sea side, pamper days, J has a membership for National Trust and a pass to Sea Life centres, so an interest in these activities would be an advantage.
I am looking for someone who will think outside the box and encourage J to be actively involved in activities.
You will receive:
1. £12.00 per hour
2. A pension if eligible
3. 5.6 weeks annual leave per year pro rata
4. Full certificated training on all aspects of the role
Hours available:
5. There are 2 part time posts available:
Post 1: Working 2 weekends a month Saturday and Sunday (providing 2:1 care) 9am to 9pm, and Tuesdays 12 midday to 9pm (providing 2:1 care until 6pm and 1:1 until 9pm). Total of 57 hours per month.
Post 2: Working 2 weekends a month Saturday and Sunday (providing 2:1 care) 9am to 9pm, Thursdays 5pm to 9pm (providing 1:1 care), and 2 Sundays a month 12 midday to 4pm (these Sundays are alternate to the full days). Total of 56 hours per month.
6. There is the opportunity to work additional hours on occasions in relation to holidays and sickness.
What’s Required:
7. Provide assistance with all aspects of personal care, bathing, washing hair dressing, feeding, changing.
8. A full driving licence and a willingness to drive her van (fully insured) must be over 25 for insurance purposes.
9. Flexibility and reliability in working hours is essential.
10. Weekend work essential.
11. An enhanced DBS check, the cost will be met by the Employer
12. Able to accompany J to swimming including being in the pool with her.
13. Able to push a wheelchair.
