Colas Ltd. have a great opportunity for a Damaged Network Property (DNP) Manager to join the Area 9 team based in Bescot, Walsall, WS1 4NL but willing to travel to other Area 9 locations within the Midlands when required to. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the timely completion of the cost packs associated to Incident repairs. Working closely with the operational teams and incident response manager to provide reports associated with damaged to network property in order to support national highways with cost recovery.
Main Responsibilities
As a DNP Manager, you will provide support to the Commercial team with the administration of the Area 9 M & R Contract, (Highways Maintenance & Response Contract). You will manage the DNP process including Red & Green Claims and line manage the DNP Coordinators. You will keep records, complete all necessary paperwork, communicate and liaise with other employees of Colas, sub contractors, the emergency services, the police, the general public, clients and customers in support of DNP processes. You will be heavily involved in the preparation and evaluation of compensation event claims, and/or other claims based upon contractual entitlement, and/or insurance claims and provide accurate and timely reports to support routine commercial requirements of the contract and to ensure value and cost associated with the various workstreams are reconciled and recovered via the contract mechanisms within Area 9 Contract. The provision of accurate and timely commercial reports and advice to senior management team whilst monitoring contracts and reporting against the appropriate commercial targets. You will be required to manage budgets, cost forecasting, management and control processes including the use of contract programmes, change and risk registers. Your duty will be to support your team and give advice to the project operational teams and ensure compliance with Colas’ governance, policies and procedure. Ensure all activities are undertaken with due regard for the environment, to prevent pollution, comply with legal and corporate requirements and minimise environmental impact.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have practical experience developed from within this business and industry sector, or from an Insurance background. You will have proven ability to demonstrate strong financial understanding including control and reporting of budgets and associated variations.
The DNP Manager will be a dynamic and forward-thinking individual with strong commercial acumen and an effective communicator who has previous experience of working within high performing teams. Experience in the use of estimating software packages such as Causeway, Candy etc. is desirable. It is essential you have good attention to detail, be flexible and be open to change and be able to maintain high technical standards. Taking responsibility for the safety of yourself and others within your team to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and safe operation to protect members of the public. A valid UK driving licence is essential for this role.
