The Role PMO Manager As PMO Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Project Management Office (PMO) within our Professional Services department. Reporting directly to the Head of Professional Services, you will lead a team of Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators. You will ensure high standards of performance and delivery across the team while managing recruitment, resource planning, and operational excellence. This role is instrumental in driving the health, performance, and success of the project portfolio, aligning with the companys strategic goals and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. What you will be doing? Team Leadership and Development Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers, and Project Coordinators. Oversea recruitment for PMO roles, ensuring the team has the right skills and capacity to meet project demands. Foster a high-performing and collaborative team culture, encouraging professional growth and development. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and implement improvement plans where necessary. Project Oversight and Governance Ensure all projects under the PMO are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget, meeting customer expectations. Implement and maintain robust project governance frameworks and methodologies. Monitor project health across the portfolio, proactively addressing risks, issues, and dependencies. Operational Management Manage resource allocation and capacity planning across the PMO to ensure optimal billable utilisation of the team Track and report on project pipeline, team performance metrics, and financial forecasts to the Head of Professional Services Develop and maintain reporting dashboards, ensuring accurate visibility of project status and PM performance. Ensure adherence to internal and customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs). Stakeholder Engagement Promotion of the PMO to both internal and external stakeholders Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Consultancy teams to align PMO activities with business objectives and projects. Act as the point of escalation for project-related issues, ensuring timely resolution, and customer satisfaction. Represent the PMO in leadership discussions and customer engagements as required. Partner with Presales and Bid teams to support tender and bid activities, ensuring the PMO can deliver proposed solutions. Learning and Development Oversee the completion of training and shadowing activities for team members. Ensure that all team members are up to date with necessary certifications and training requirements. Facilitate professional growth and development opportunities for team members. Commercial and Financial Management Oversee project financial performance across the PMO, ensuring alignment with budgetary targets and profitability goals. Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial health, identifying risks and opportunities for optimisation. Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of financial metrics, including revenue, cost, and margin. Support the creating and review of Statements of Work (SOWs) to confirm scope and commercial feasibility Manage escalations related to commercial disputes or financial variances, ensuring prompt resolution. Provide insights into the financial impact of resource allocation and project performance, supporting strategic decision-making. Champion best practices for commercial governance within the PMO, ensuring compliance with the internal policies and procedures. Reporting and Analytics Create and maintain comprehensive reports on team activities, including resource utilisation, project status, and financial performance. Analyse data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement in resource management practices. Present weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-year, YTD and end of year reports to senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations. Quality Assurance and Control Ensure that all projects adhere to CAE quality standards and guidelines Ensure projects achieve or surpass budgeted financial goals while maintaining compliance with internal Operational Level Agreements (OLAs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements Implement and monitor quality control processes and procedures Competencies and Behaviours Lead by example to create a culture of customer-centricity, ensuring all team members prioritise customer satisfaction in their approach to project delivery. Proven experience in leading a PMO or large project management team within an IT Services organisation Strong understanding of project governance, portfolio management, and resource planning. Demonstrable track record of managing large-scale IT Projects and programs, preferably in networking, infrastructure, or cloud technologies. Familiarity with bid and tender processes, including pre-sales engagement. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Prince 2, PMP, Agile) Financial acumen to track and report on project budgets, forecasts, and profitability.
