Our Client (Global Home Appliance Manufacturer) based in Weybridge is looking for an Application & Sales Engineer. In this role, you will ensure air conditioning equipment is specified in projects by working closely with consultants, M&E contractors, and installers. As an Application Engineer, you will assume responsibility for achieving heat pump/heat recovery equipment selection/quotation generation related KPI targets, identifying and creating new sales opportunities, and preparing project proposals based on design. In addition, you will provide technical support to consultants and contractors.
Role & Responsibilities:
1. Achieve overall sales and KPI targets – heat pump, heat recovery limited design, equipment selection, and quotation generation.
2. Build a strong customer base and relationship with consultants and contractors.
3. Proactively develop, track, and aggressively grow specifications across market segments, continually building a pipeline of new projects.
4. Identify and create new sales opportunities with both existing and new customers to achieve set and agreed spec-in sales targets.
5. Have a basic understanding of M&E project sales, e.g., Design & build, VRF preferred design, equipment selection, providing technical assistance and guidance to customers for generated selection and quotes.
6. Prepare project proposals based on design, specification, and quotations using our equipment with support from the application engineering team.
7. Occasional visits to consultant/contractor offices to attend project progress meetings.
8. Promote products through regular CPD/technical presentations to consultants as required.
Skills, Education & Experience:
1. Degree qualified is preferable, with Mechanical Engineering/technical based qualifications.
2. Previous experience within the Air Conditioning (VRF/applied) industry.
3. A technical understanding of VRF systems and design is required. Knowledge of applied products/chillers/AHU would be a plus.
4. Understanding of specification design through consultants, design & build sales through M&E contractors/installers. Knowledge of compliances i.e., BREEAM, SAP, PART L/F, BSEN378, etc., architectural planning would be a plus.
5. 2 years or more experience and a proven track record of selling VRF air conditioning products is necessary, via consultants or/and contractors.
6. You will be a qualified experienced professional with a basic understanding of heat pumps and a background of working with consultants, M&E contractors, and installers. Experience selling HVAC VRF based heating, cooling, controls, BMS, ventilation technologies into commercial infrastructure projects will be an advantage.
7. A self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Good organisational skills, highly focused and capable of sustaining a fast pace in a dynamic environment.
