Description We are seeking a dedicated Cleaner to join our team at a HMP Eastwood Park, a closed category Women’s prison. Our team is more than just a group of colleagues – we work Monday to Friday as a supportive and driven family, working together to create a safe and nurturing environment for the women in our care. The prison runs like a self-contained city, it takes hundreds of people to keep it functioning, and as the Facilities Maintenance Team we are committed and driving the smooth and safe operation, like a heart that pumps blood through the body, everything we do impacts every prisoner, employee, and visitor, and wider to the families and community. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues who vary from Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, to Administrators and other Cleaners, who are all dedicated to making a positive difference, providing a safe and secure environment for all. We are looking for an experienced Cleaner who: Can proactively undertake various cleaning activities, including using chemicals and equipment such as floor polishers and vacuum cleaners etc Understand the importance of, and can adhere to health and safety legislation and policies and procedures to provide a safe and appropriate service to the prison environment Is able to remain calm under pressure and work in an environment which requires a methodical approach and ability to work to deadlines Can ensure the shared areas (not cells) of the site such as the offices, visitor centre and main wings are kept clean, clear, and sanitised to join us in our mission to promote rehabilitation and positive change and be part of a team that truly makes a difference.
