They will be able to help all students understand the value of their education, be able to facilitate a happy and productive classroom experience and be a positive role model to all students they work with. (Swindon Academy has a clear and robust behaviour policy which means that if a pupil disrupts learning, they are removed from the lesson.)Cover Supervisors at Swindon Academy can access the same outstanding training activities and support we offer to our subject specialist teachers, and there is a great opportunity to take a full role in school life alongside the cover duties.What you offerYou will first and foremost be a reliable person, with the organisation and communication skills required to effectively manage the cover provision at the academy and in doing so build positive relationships with Faculty Leaders, SLT and pastoral staff across the academy. You will be reflective and resilient in the face of setbacks and be open to making improvements to the systems and processes around you.Being familiar with a school setting and the systems that govern it is advantageous as it will allow you to navigate the unique challenges of the classroom. This may have been achieved through other appointments in other cover supervisor roles, teaching, mentoring, or work completed in other youth organisations.
