Admissions Office, Weston Library, Broad Street, Oxford OX1 3BG About the role The Bodleian Libraries is the library service supporting the University of Oxford and the largest university library system in the United Kingdom. The Bodleian Libraries Admissions Office handles requests for admission by readers who are not currently officially affiliated to the University of Oxford. A Bodleian Libraries Assistant Admissions Officer is needed to work in the busy, challenging, front-of-house Admissions Office. This is a permanent post on a paid-as-claimed basis. The Office operates with two shifts on weekdays (9:00 to 13:00 and 13:00 to 17:00) and one on Saturdays (10:00 to 14:00). We are at our busiest in September, January and throughout the summer period. You may be asked to cover one or two shifts at short notice and, rarely, you may also be asked to cover the Office on your own. About You You will report to the Bodleian Libraries Admissions Officer and work as part of a small, friendly and busy team mainly to receive new/returning applicants wishing to access the Bodleian Libraries. You will establish whether admission is appropriate and administer the admission process, as well as provide successful applicants with a general introduction to the Libraries.
