As a Digital Trading Lead for Tu Clothing, you will have the chance to shape and execute comprehensive digital plans, driving growth and improvement in digital metrics. What you'll do: As the Digital Trading Lead at Sainsbury's, you will play a crucial role in owning and driving the performance and growth of specific categories across digital channels. You will report into the Clothing Digital Trading Manager, and be part of the wider Sainsburys eCommerce team. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing comprehensive digital plans, driving improvements in digital sales growth, utilising tools and insights to enhance digital metrics and commercial outcomes, collaborating with key stakeholders to prioritise projects and activities, managing and delivering applicable Clothing Commercial and eCommerce projects, ensuring clear communication and execution of content plans, attending key meetings to provide performance updates and shape commercial strategy, analysing data and insights to inform promotional and category planning activities, identifying trading improvement opportunities and risks, building strong relationships with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with legal frameworks. In this dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will apply your passion for e-commerce and retail, strategic planning skills, analytical capabilities, negotiation abilities, and customer focus to deliver exceptional results and drive the success of the digital trading division. You will be expected to show successful delivery of sales, conversion and digital participation. You will engage closely with Commercial and Marketing colleagues to translate the category strategies into a detailed 6-9 month digital category plan. You are accountable for the successful delivery of this plan across the digital channels. Who you are: As a Digital Trading Lead for Sainsbury's, you are a passionate and results-driven professional with a strong background in e-commerce and retail. With your experience in building and delivering strategic plans aligned to business objectives, you excel in fast-paced and pressured environments, effectively managing projects within timelines and budgets. Your strong analytical and numerical capabilities allow you to make data-driven recommendations and drive improvements in digital sales growth. With your negotiation skills and ability to prioritise effectively, you collaborate with various stakeholders to identify and activate projects across digital platforms. Your customer focus, proactive mindset, and ability to anticipate future risks and opportunities contribute to the success of your team and the overall business goals. Your excellent communication skills and trust-building abilities enable you to execute on strategic agendas and drive impactful results. What you need to do: You will deliver successful results through smart digital trading of key category priorities and optimisation of the customer experience. You will Lead the team to deliver best-in-class web merchandising, through effective planning and prioritisation. Take ownership of delivering the key metrics in the category, looking at run rates on Visits/Sales/Participation/Conversion/Search Trends and creating actions to improve these. Weekly and Periodic Sales Reporting to the Digital Trading Manager on the performance of their category, and actions for coming week/period. Work collaboratively with the Digital Trading Manager to understand the Digital Trading Strategy for the coming year. Create category plans to align with the trading strategy and contribute to its success. Lead digital projects that will grow the performance of your categories. Ensure all requirements are fed in, planned, and delivered on time. Build collaborative relationships with the Trading, Marketing, and wider Digital Teams. Regularly communicate with these teams to inform and influence future commercial activity. Planning Digital Trading activity 3-9 months out and ensuring the plans are delivered. A combination of longer-term strategic thinking, and short-term implementation work is needed. Use analytics and customer insight to inform category plans and feed into a continuous improvement plan of your areas. Using helpful frameworks, identify customer problems or opportunities and solve these through website merchandising and/or customer acquisition activities or initiatives. Build strong relationships with brands to present the opportunities to invest in digital marketing and content, typically on a performance basis; targeting segments of engaged people, with a view to cover each point of the purchase funnel. What you need to know and show: Ability to demonstrate a clear customer obsession in all aspects of role. Strong analytical skills, including experience in digital analytics tools like Adobe Analytics Excellent communication skills, and familiar with presenting data and insight. A sense of the market in which we operate; a solid holistic understanding of the Digital landscape and wider retail environment. Capable of influencing to a senior level across the wider Digital teams & operating companies that constitute Sainsbury’s Argos while appreciating the differing cultures & priorities prevalent. Able to build relationships & effectively influence external agencies, suppliers, & external organisations up to senior management level. Ability to influence other stakeholders across all business functions to ensure we can achieve the goals we set out, by obtaining all information/deliverables we need. Demonstrates future potential for Senior Leadership. What decisions I can make including budget: Job holder has no direct responsibilities for budgets. However, budget may need to be sought by other teams to facilitate some projects. Job holder needs to be aware of financial impacts of decisions and to ensure risks and opportunities are mitigated / flagged to budget holder. Job holder may be delegated ownership of budgets related to specific projects. The Digital Trading Lead has final accountability for the Digital Category Plan for up to 12months they are responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality website merchandising through their team. Directly or indirectly manages: Indirect manages and leads offshore colleagues responsible for product setup and support.
