Siemens Energy Services are looking for a Junior Meter Assurance Test Engineer to work in our team in Rochester, Kent on a 7-month fixed term contract. You’ll create impact by: Conduct desk-based and on-site technical assurance audits on metering systems for the capacity market under the electricity market reform scheme, verifying compliance with governing documents and Capacity Market rules.Analyse single line diagrams, electrical schematics, and test certificates to ensure correct accuracy class, ratings, and errors of metering equipment.Calculate and verify errors in metering equipment and confirm accurate recording through commissioning test results.Determine and verify aggregation rules for metered volumes and ensure accurate data provision methods. What we're looking for:
1. Applicants should have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the contract as we’re unable to sponsor visas for this role.
2. Competent in interpreting Single Line Diagrams and electrical schematics, with a proven level of competence to HNC or degree level.
3. Understanding of power systems and basic electrical concepts
4. Flexible to perform site work as needed and capable of meeting deadlines set under Capacity Market rules.
5. Detail-oriented and able to work accurately.
6. Desirable: detailed knowledge of metering principles and experience in electricity metering industry. Familiarity with Elexon CoPs, Bespoke Technical Requirements, and Balancing Services agreements with National Grid.
