An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Named Professional for Safeguardingadultsfor Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. You will join a dynamic team who provide expertsafeguarding adviceand training to staff across BerkshireHealthcare. You will have the opportunity to develop skills in adult safeguarding, will receive training and support and work with multi-agency partners to develop safeguarding practice.
The main base for this post is St MarksHospital,however the post holder will visit bases across Berkshire with flexibility to work from home.
• Promotegood professionalpractice in safeguarding adults by providing a source of advice, support,challengeandexpertisefor staff in the Trust.
• Ensure the provision of expert advice to all relevant external agencies e.g. social care, police, Safeguarding Adult Boards, and act as a reference point to these agencies.
• Attend case conferences and Safeguarding Adult Boards and sub-committees as agreed.
• To collect and interpret data on all concerns raised with local authorities.
• To liaise with services to ensure all safeguarding concerns are appropriately referred to the local authority. Where necessary make these referrals directly.
• Provide supervision to staff working with safeguarding adult issues as required, ensuring referrals to local authorities are made.
• Provide leadership to health professionals at all levels within the Trust to promote the safeguarding of adults and compliance with relevant legal frameworks
• Provide support and challenge to staff with court statements, police statements, report writing and court appearances as necessary, to ensure that these are of a high standard.
• Contribute to the collation of health data for Internal management Reviews and Serious Case Reviews. Develop a chronology of events, contribute to the analysis of the complex information and recommendations to be made
• To ensure any serious safeguarding allegations are appropriately managed and escalated.
