JobSummary:
Manage a team ofdevelopment Principal Project Managers Project Managers andDevelopment Officers to deliver a portfolio of largescale andcomplex new build projects with a value in the region of750m.
Tosupport the Heads of Service and the Director of Housing on servicepolicy & strategydevelopment.
Responsible toHeads of Service and the Director of Housing for achieving agreedperformance outcomes and standards which will be reviewed at leaston an annualbasis.
Toreview each scheme and ensure there are adequate resources foreffective delivery and risk mitigation. To report to the Heads ofService and take appropriate action to ensure that the project teamhas all the necessary skills and experience to deliver therespectivescheme.
Todrive delivery and manage performance of your development team. Toset milestones and targets through scheme appraisal and monthly 121recorded meetings with your team. To take appropriate action toensure the project meets itsobjectives.
KeyDuties/Accountabilities
Tomanage a client team delivering large and complex new build andregeneration projects through all RIBA stages ensuring fullcompliance with Council and related policies and procedures andeffective management of the projectteam.
Througheffective team management you will be focussed on deliveringresults whilst driving your team and a team of multidisciplinaryconsultants to achieve council targets and keypriorities.
Todeputise for the Heads of Service within the servicespecific areain the provision of new build services whereappropriate.
Useyour extensive development experience to motivate and support theteam to enable them to perform to a consistent highstandard.
Todevelop and update the new build checklist KPIs and employer srequirements measuring the effectiveness and continuous improvementof theservice.
Review projectrisks and ensure appropriate risk mitigation strategies are inplace.
Toidentify and appraise sites which may be suitable for development/redevelopment or reconfiguration in liaison with other teams asappropriate to secure support forproposals.
Tolead on the development of major estate regeneration and otherlarge scale new build projects or those that considered to becommercially or politicallysensitive.
EssentialExperienceRequired:
Experience ofmanaging substantial budgets undertaking complex financial anddevelopment appraisals and attracting external funding to supportresidential development and regeneration projects isessential.
Experience ofmanaging large complex development or regeneration programmes isessential.
Demonstrableexperience of leading multidisciplinary teams in a housing orrelated area within the public or private sector to deliversuccessful outcomes isessential.
Experience inaffordable housing funding mechanisms including GLA/HCA and localauthority policy and investment frameworks isessential.
EssentialQualificationRequired:
AProject Management qualification or other relevant professionalqualification in a housing related subject and demonstrableexperience of working in a management capacity with housingdevelopment or a development related field isessential.
